JUNG-CHUL KIM Jung-Chul Kim passed away peacefully in his sleep at Concordia General Hospital at the age of 92 on November 23, 2015. Born in Yong Kang Goon, Pyong Yang, North Korea, he immigrated to Canada with his family in 1983 after living in South Korea for over 30 years. He opened up a grocery store, Zip-Thru, at the current location on Stadacona Street by Talbot Avenue in 1986, where he worked until he retired in 2006 due to health problems. He is survived by his daughter, Kyong-Sook Chung (married to Jae-Hun Chaung) and Huyn-Hee Jeong, and by sons, Hong-Jin Kim, Hong-Pil Kim and Hong-Joon Kim, and by grandchildren, Paul, Hanna, and Daniel. The funeral service will be held on November 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. The service will be officiated by Reverend Byung-Gi Chung of Emmanuel Korean Church. The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at WHSC, Seven Oaks General Hospital and Concordia General Hospital for their dedicated and compassionate care over the past six years, as well as those who supported my family's store for the past 29 years.
