JOSE CABRAL AMARAL August 15, 1966 - November 25, 2015 In Memory Of It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved Joe while working at the Musselwhite mine in Ontario. Joe left us to continue his journey with the Lord and to join his parents Jose and Bernadette, mother-in-law Eduarda da Silva, as well as other cherished family members. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 25 years Elvira; daughters Kathleen and Ashley; son Joshua; siblings Margaret (Nancy, Johnny), Inocencio (Filomena, Joey, Bobby), Hortencia, Berny (Timothy, Zachary); father-in-law Jose da Silva; sisters-in-law, Natalia (Marina), Eduarda (Mario Jorge, Raul, Vasco, Cristina) and Sandra (Filipo, Joao, Afonso); as well as his respected coworkers and friends. Born and raised in Manitouwadge, Ontario, Joe was an energetic, fun loving, friendly boy who always found a way to get himself into mischief. He moved to Portugal where he met Elvira, then moved back to his hometown, intending to enter the mining industry. From Manitouwadge, Joe moved to Yellowknife, working in the gold mine for five years. After another mine shut down, work drew Joe to Winnipeg, where he raised his family and entered into the long haul trucking industry for ten years. To better provide for his family, the mining industry attracted Joe once again, and he has been an employee in Musselwhite since 2011. Joe was one of a kind with his big heart, kind soul, and charisma. He had a strong love for his family, cars, dog Roxy, and enjoying coffee with his dear friends. He will be truly missed and forever imbedded in our hearts and memories. His kindness and respect exemplifies how we should love and treat our dear ones. Joe's family would like to profoundly thank everyone at Goldcorp Inc. for their immense help and support through this very difficult time. We love you Joe, and will miss you forever. We hope and pray that you will be truly blessed and have eternal peace. Prayers will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street N. The Mass of the Resurrection will follow on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. also in the Church with Rev. Father Andre Lico celebrant, and entombment will follow the Mass in the Holy Family Cemetery. I met Joe at Musselwhite Mine mostly when he was in on overtime, which was quite a bit. He spoke often of his wife and family and knew there were sacrifices to be made when supporting his family. Joe can finally rest in peace and his family can begin to heal. He is not really gone as long as we remember him in our hearts. - Posted by: Rodney MacDonald (Past Co-Worker at Musselwhite Mine) on: Dec 03, 2015

I met Joe about 6 years ago as we worked together at Gardewine North. We quickly became close friends. A couple of years later I moved to Toronto and Joe was there to help me load my furniture into a 53 foot trailer. Our friendship did not end as we kept in contact a couple of times a month and I would have coffee with Joe at Tim Hortons when I was in Winnipeg. I will miss our long talks when you were driving home from Thunder Bay and how we always tried to get each other going for a laugh. I can't believe your gone my good friend. Way too soon. My condolences to Elvira and the kids. May god give you strength to get through this extremely difficult time. Until we meet again my friend. - Posted by: Jorge Carreiro (Friend) on: Dec 02, 2015
