DAVID ERNEST MATHERS April 8, 1937 December 15, 2015 Peacefully after a full life, Dave left us on the Ides of December. Those who knew what a huge history buff Dave was and how he especially loved Roman history, will understand the importance of the date. Through his life he had many hobbies, and gardening and reading stayed with him to the end. He also attended Toast Masters International for many years, and was a District Toast Master. In recent years, with declining health he re-connected with Toast Masters and really enjoyed his time with Elmwood Seniors TM Club 4032. Left to mourn him are his wife of 51 years, Norma, daughter Susan, son Robert (Karen) and grandson Bruce. The family wishes to thank Dr. Martin and the staff of 3N East at Concordia Hospital. Dave had excellent care from his nurses and Health Care Aides. Norma would also like to thank chaplains Kathleen and Lauri for their compassion and prayers. Dave requested cremation and no funeral. The family is hosting a lunch on January 3, 2016. This is another important date to Dave and Norma; it is the 50th anniversary of their arrival in Winnipeg.
