Fay I have just learned of Speed's passing. Having been very sick for the past few years I have been out of the loop. My heart breaks thinking about the man they called "Speed Walker". Speed and I spent many a gig singing together and working with young talent in the studio. He was a gentle soft spoken man with a true passion for music. He was the kindest man I had ever met and the world was a better place having had him in it. I listen to our recordings often and think about him. My deepest sympathies go out to you Fay and your family. I will see him soon and we will sing together once again. Ron Dirr - Posted by: Ron Dirr (Friend) on: Sep 15, 2017

Fay, I was very saddened to hear the news of Speed's passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this most difficult time. Speed will be missed by everyone whose life he touched. He was a beautiful person, inside and out, and very talented. I loved to listen to him sing back in the 80s at Saturday afternoon jams at Ma's, and it was my pleasure to have worked with him on the MACA Board all those many years ago. He was a true gentleman. May he rest in eternal peace. - Posted by: Samantha Rothwell (friend) on: Jan 11, 2016

What sad news about Speed's passing. He and Fay were so involved in mentoring, supporting and cheering new singers back in the 80's. Speed had such a smooth voice and style --he was willing to share his knowledge of stage and performance with us. I fondly remember the get-togetherness at their home. I always found Speed as a kind and caring man with wonderful talent. My thoughts and prayers are with Fay and family. - Posted by: Rae Anne Paxton () on: Jan 07, 2016
