Born: Dec 13, 1934
Date of Passing: Jan 05, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN JOB December 13, 1934 - January 5, 2016 Peacefully on January 5, 2016, Evelyn Job passed away surrounded by her children. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene, and will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children Valerie (Rob) Tiede, Jeff (Colleen) Job, and Shelley Davie; her grandchildren Melissa (Robby), Ryan (Christie), Stacy (Brad), Chris, and Rebecca; her great-grandson Abel; three sisters and two brothers, and a large extended family. Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and was in and out of the hospital many times during her childhood because of her asthma. At the age of 15, Mom decided to leave school to work full time to help support her family. She accepted Jesus as her Saviour and was baptized in 1949. She met her husband Eugene at church and they dated for two years before getting married in 1955. They had a daughter Val in 1958, and later adopted two children, Jeff in 1968, and Shelley in 1970. Once children came along, Mom focused on being a homemaker and created a loving home for her family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends around the kitchen table and prepared an abundance of good food for everyone to enjoy. Mom loved to play games (especially Rook), and had a great sense of humour. Mom was a very special lady, and even as her health declined, she maintained a positive attitude, never complained, and was kind to those around her. She will be missed by all who knew her. A special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of CancerCare, Palliative Care, and Riverview Health Centre who took such special care of Mom throughout the last year, and Dr. Lotocki and Dr. H. DaSilva for their care and support. A celebration of Mom's life will take place on Monday, January 11 at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, 204-885-9715, with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. and a service at 10:00 a.m. with an interment to follow. My cousin Evelyn was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a classy lady and always looked kind of perfect. I have very fond memories of time spent with her and remember the first time she and her family visited us on the farm after they moved back to Manitoba. I was so eager to show my cousin the farmyard......I soon found out what happens when someone with Asthma spends time in the chicken barn I was scared to death I would lose my new friend. Thankfully she survived and we were able to have many good times as friends....not on the farm. I will miss you dear Evelyn....See you on the other side Your cousin Agnes - Posted by: agnes rist (Cousin) on: Jan 10, 2016
