WILLIAM ANDREW WOYTOWICH
Born: Sep 08, 1936
Date of Passing: Jan 07, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) ANDREW WOYTOWICH It is with much sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of William (Bill) Andrew Woytowich, age 79, beloved husband, father and grandpa on Thursday, January 7, 2016. He leaves to mourn his wife Donna; son Brett (Jenn), grandsons, Brock and Montana; granddaughters, Calli and Tegan. He was predeceased by his son Laine; his mother Mary and his uncle Alex. Bill was born on September 8, 1936 and grew up in North Point Douglas. While his love of all sports kept him involved throughout his life in hockey, soccer, football and golf, he was especially proud of the fact that he was one of the founders of the Winnipeg Hawkeyes in 1957. Having also been the designer of the original team logo. He could often be found in the summer on a golf course or having morning coffee with his buddies at the mall and in the afternoon at the Red Top. Bill has held many interesting jobs throughout his lifetime, from working on the rail lines with CPR to Sales Manager at RJ MacDonald Tobacco. Those friendships he created had lasted a lifetime. Bill enjoyed watching and assisting his boys with their hockey and above all else was especially proud of his grandkids. Bill was killed when he rushed into a burning orphanage to save a group of adorable children. Or maybe not. We all know how he liked to tell stories. He will be missed and remembered by all whom his life has touched. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Sunday, January 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Southdale Community Centre, 254 Lakewood Blvd. A special thank you to his dear friends; Gordon Horton, Peter Derksen, Don Swaile, Metro Hynitka, Don Swaitkowich and all of his coffee buddies. "May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand". Billy and I , with many other boys played baseball at Norquay park (Indians) He was a very coordinated athlete, and was great to play with. Knew him a little from golf, also. Just always considered " one of the boys," like most of us want to be. Not too many of us left. Proud to have been considered his friend. Great guy !! - Posted by: Carl Teplitski (old friend and sports team - mate / and all around friend) on: Jan 09, 2016
