FRANCOIS EMILE ROELAND Frank passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Kin Place personal care home in Oakbank, MB at the age of 94 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Claude (Adele), Raymond (Joelle) and Anita (Ron); grandchildren, Cathleen, Tammy (Calvin), Ryan (Jenny), Jennifer (Iain), Paul (Sherri), Keith (Sally), Yvonne (Jimmy), Jackie (Terence), Noel (Lise); as well as great-grandchildren, Hunter, Tony, Carter, Ethan, Landon, Aiden, Drew, Joseph, Addyson, Britany, Rory, Cassidy, Jasmin (Tim), Javon, Jocelyn, Janelle, Janiq, Jahnyssa, Jayce, Austin, Nathan, Broden, Aryanna, Connor and Jenelle. He will also be missed by his siblings, Caesar (Jean), Angele, Rachel, Regina and Laurent (Helen); sister-in-law, Joanne Plante and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his wife Noella (Plante), son Noel, parents Oscar and Martha (Vandekerchove) Roeland; brother Rene and in-laws Arthur (Adelina) Plante, Gerald Fransoo, Gaston Janssen, Cedilie (Charles) Tellier, Arthur, Bernard (Velva), Blanche (Louis) Bibeau, Mariana (Paul) Levasseur, Alfred (Meryl) Marcien and dear friend Marie Davies. Dad was born on May 14, 1921 in Somerset, MB. The family moved from Somerset to Oakbluff in 1937, they then moved to Navin in 1939. Frank married the love of his life Noella in 1951 and moved to NW 21-10-4E RM of Springfield, MB, where he grain farmed right up until his passing. In the early 1950s he worked at Eatons Mail Order and in 1955 he started his employment at Kiewel Brewery and retired from there in 1976. In 1955 Dad served on the Executive Committee at the Belgian Club and ran the Bingo for may years till the mid 80s. He enjoyed making and giving cookies to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many sunny afternoons were spent bowling and playing Bien at the cabin. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff a Kin Place personal care home for all of their care and compassion given to Frank over the past few years. In keeping with Frank's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road with a reception to follow at the Belgian Club, 407 Provencher Boulevard. Interment will take place at a later date where he will be laid to rest with his wife Noella in Belgian Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Belgian Club, 407 Provencher Boulevard or to Kin Place personal care home, 680 Pine Drive, Oakbank, MB.
