Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERTRUDE EVA OAKES It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Trudy Oakes. Trudy slipped away peacefully on the morning of January 17, 2016 in her sleep after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother Louise White, her husband Pierre Contois, children: Johnny, Travis, Patsy (Tim), and Pete (Sharon), grandchildren: Daniel, Amanda, Felicia, Kayla, Jesse, Sheldon, P.D., and Hailey, her great-grandson Bentley, along with her many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her stepfather Cliff and sister Betty-Lou. Trudy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and devoted her life to her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of the Grace Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Trudy in her final months. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue at Henderson Highway.

I was so sorry to hear of Trudy's passing. I spent many a good time with her and her mom volunteering at Siloam Mission when it was on Main Street. Trudy cared deeply for the people of the area and will be remembered for her kindness.
