JUDITH MARGARET WILSON (nee STAIRS) Judith passed away suddenly on January 19, 2016. Her family was her life. She lived her life according to her spiritual beliefs. Opening her home to family and friends she shared what she could to the best of her ability. Predeceased by her father (Henry Archibald Stairs), mother (Hilda Elizabeth Mary Oxenham), and husband (Brian Michael Wilson) She leaves to remember her three children; Dina Wilson (Steve), Mary Wilson Lambert (Donald), and Matthew Wilson (Darlene); six grandchildren, Andrew, David, Jade, Brett, Alyssa, Damian and one great-grandchild; six siblings, 24 nieces and nephews, 54 great-nieces and nephews and 12 great-great-nieces and nephews. She spent her career years working at Richardson Securities, Air Canada and Red River College. She married her only love in 1968 in Winnipeg. Moving to St. Andrews where they built their home in 1970. It was her sanctuary and "little piece of heaven" she spent many hours gardening and quilting. Her online quilt group "cdnquiltswappers" included friends from around the world. She devoted much of her time with genealogy researching her roots back to the 1600s. This was something she truly loved. She attended Principal Sparling School, HC Avery and Jefferson/Garden City Schools. Condolences & Memories (12 entries)

  • Although I never met Judith in person, I have fond memories of her being the 'list mom' of the online quilting group Cdnquiltswappers. She was a wonderful quilting mentor, and even encouraged me to host some swaps, with a patient and guiding hand. I was saddened to hear of her passing. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. Judith, may you rest in peace. - Posted by: Kimberly McConville (quilting friend) on: May 09, 2016

  • Although we never got to know each other well, I know you played a large part in my daughter Kristi's life. My memory is of the year my Kristi had her son Jesse, Jen had Chelsea and Mary had Alyessa, all around New Years Eve so we had a "Three Generation" New Years Eve get together at our house. Its not something that people do everyday but to me it is a cherised memory. - Posted by: Pat and Don Gagne (Friend) on: Jan 25, 2016

  • It's sad to have to say farewell to a fellow quilter and dear friend. I'll fondly remember Judith for spearheading the Manitoba Retreat and with AuroraOn-lineQuilters hosting it for many Canadian quilters to attend. She was always there to help anyone anytime! A lovely caring heart always giving to those dear to her. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. - Posted by: Rose Anne Burdeny (Fellow local quilter and friend) on: Jan 24, 2016

  • I cannot begin to express how much Judith changed my life. I found Judith and her online group of quilters pretty much as Judith breathed life into that project. I learned so much from this group and Judith`s kindness and patience was remarkable. We had many good laughs via e-mail and even meeting in person from time to time. We worked on group projects together and I shall treasure everyone that you worked on. Rest in peace Judith. Your caring and kindness will be missed. • Judith you meant so much to many most especially your family, you were special and that's no lie. As our list mom for Canadianquiltswappers you encouraged each and everyone, shared and inspired. I will remember your encouraging calls at difficult times in my life and still have the small lap quilt you made for me on behalf of the group in memory of my grandpa's death. I am so glad we were able to meet once our first retreat in Caledonia Ontario. You had always hoped to come to the London Ontario Retreat I hosted but it never happen. You wanted quilting friendships to continue in the new age of technology so Canadianquiltswappers facebook group was created to continue the vision you created, along with Linda M. I to promise to assist Linda and carry on in your honour and memory. The friendships you help create are forever and one day we will again meet because although your work here on earth is done, your life has just begun, your struggles are long and hard but your death although leaves a heartache that no one can heal for many most especially the family you left behind, your love and kindness will be the memories that will care them through. You will always remain in their hearts, they live on in the kindness and love they share with you because you are now the angel watching over them. Thank you for being the friend you were to many and the best list mom any group could of asked for.....Rest in peace my dear friend until we meet again.
