ROBERT PAUL WIEBE December 25, 1957 - January 26, 2016 Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Rob passed away with his wife by his side in the early morning of Tuesday, January 26, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa; daughters, Laura (Cory) and Michelle (Chris); siblings, Rick (Gwen), Debbie (Rick), and Mark (Judith); mother-in-law, Evelyn; sister-in-laws, Janice (Evan), Roberta (Brian), Cathy, Heather (Keith), and Jamie (Eric); and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret Wiebe and father-in-law, Jim Drury. Rob worked for over 36 years in the computer industry at various companies such as, The Canadian Wheat Board, MTS, Agricore United (UGG), and currently at Investors Group. Rob was passionate and driven in his work within the field. With his unique sense of humour, he easily developed friendships with both colleagues and others everywhere he went. The most important thing to Rob was family, not only Teresa and the girls, but also his extended family and friends. Beyond his love of family was his tremendous faith. It was this faith that carried him through his journey and gave him the courage to face each day. A celebration of Rob's life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Temple Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

  • So sad to hear of Rob's passing. We had many good times together at the CWB. Rob certainly knew how to have fun at work! He will be missed. - Posted by: Stu Charles (Former co-worker at CWB) on: Jan 31, 2016

  • A sad time for all that had the privilege to know Rob. His unique sense of humour will be missed by all, but I truly believe right now he is in a better place continuing to make others smile. Glad to have worked with him, having to manage Rob and his style, definitely forced me to learn new skills to lead people. He was great person to be around. - Posted by: Gerry Sul (Co-Worker) on: Jan 29, 2016

  • I am most thankful to have had the opportunity to work with and (more importantly) laugh with Rob. He provided guidance and help on many occasions and he truly made the work environment a better place. I pray that Teresa, his daughters, and Rob's extended family feel God's presence and His comforting love. - Posted by: Sherry Heppner ((former co-worker)) on: Jan 29, 2016

  • I am completely shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Rob. I worked with Rob for only less than a year but I will always remember his kindness and great sense of humour. In my thoughts & prayers. Rest in peace Rob. - Posted by: Hai Yen (Former co-worker) on: Jan 29, 2016

  • Very sad to hear this. Many years ago, as a young graduate, I had migrated to Canada and started working at MTS. Rob was my manager then and his good sense of humour and friendly approach helped me settle down in the new country and new workplace. His influence in me was large as later in my life when I became a Manager and boss to many, I adopted his style of managing people. I still remember the colourful ties he would wear to work and the very jovial coffee sessions with him. I am sure he is in a happier place and heaven just got richer. Rest in peace Rob ! - Posted by: Venkatesh (co-worker at MTS) on: Jan 28, 2016

  • Rob was one of the best supervisors and co-workers I've had the pleasure to work with. He was firm when he needed to be, but also understanding and compassionate because that was just who he was. I always loved his sense of humour and he put a smile on my face daily. It made coming to work less of a chore knowing Rob was there. I was saddened to hear of his passing, and I know that he will be missed by so very many people. My heart-felt condolences to his family and everyone who was close to him. - Posted by: Lisa Case (Former co-worker) on: Jan 28, 2016

  • We lost a dear friend this week in Rob Wiebe. A witty man who livened every room that he entered with his jokes and laughter. Rob was a person who cared deeply about his family and friends. He was always volunteering to help others. Rob was a real "mensch"....and we are sad to lose him. Our heart-felt condolences to his family. - Posted by: Harry and Cindy Schulz (friends) on: Jan 28, 2016
