WINNIFRED CAROL PAULL (nee LARTER) With her husband and two sons by her side Winnie passed away peacefully on February 2, 2016. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 54 years, Ron, her sons Blaine (Elaine), Randall (Kelly), her grandchildren, Brandon, Matti, Aiden and Kacey, her sister Ilene (George Martens), her brother-in-law Paul Nemez, sister-in-law Lorraine Larter, and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Winnie was predeceased by her parents Garnet and Winnifred, her sisters Emily (Charles), Elva (Al), Helen, and her brother Elgin. Winnie was born in Bowsman, MB but grew up in Swan River, MB where she graduated from Duncan High School. It was in Swan River where she met the love of her life Ron. Soon after they were married they moved to Winnipeg to begin raising a family. Winnie began what was to be a long career at A&W starting as a carhop in the late 1960s. Her hard work, determination and ability to motivate people had her move up the ladder to become the first woman area manager in the company's history. Winnie's contribution to A&W and the people she influenced will always be appreciated. Of all Winnie's passions the greatest by far was her family. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. They will miss Grandma's apple pies and warm hugs but the deep love she had for them will stay with them forever. Winnie was also very fortunate in her life to have the love of many great friends who supported her to the very end. As per Winnie's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 445 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Winnie's wishes, donations may be made to Siloam Mission. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

  • Dear Ron, Blaine & Randy: So sorry to read online that Winnie passed away. Our sincere condolences to you all and may the memories of your wife and mother be with you forever. We first met when you lived on Havelock Ave and I was your babysitter. Years passed and we all moved away. Then many years later our paths crossed at St. Boniface Golf Course and I so glad you got to meet my husband. Bev(Kizlik)and Brian Born - Posted by: Bev & Brian Born (Friends) on: Mar 01, 2016

  • I was lucky to have worked with Winnie in my career at A&W. I learnt so much from Winnie, but most of all, I learnt to achieve my goals by taking it one step at a time. This rule has helped e many times throughout my life. I still often think of Winnie as she told me... That to eat an elephant, you do so one bite at a time. Rest in Peace Winnie You will be sadly missed by many - Posted by: Colette Berriault (Friend) on: Feb 07, 2016

  • Winnie you were a heck of an A & W Area Manager, you were strict but you were fair. You took a chance on me and promoted me to an A & W manager back in June 1987 and sent me to the Fort Garry location. We had good times and some rough times but you always got the best out of your managers. I will miss you Winnie...Love Vance. - Posted by: Vance Brown (friend) on: Feb 06, 2016
