ILSE BERGER (nee LOELIGER) Ilse died peacefully on January 31, 2016 at the age of 104 at the Charleswood Care Centre in Winnipeg. Ilse was predeceased by both of her children, John Berger and Beatrix Harris (Eric Harris), also predeceased by her siblings; sister, Ruth Loeliger and her brother, Hans-Theo Loeliger. She is survived by her only grandchild, Charlene Berger-Marykuca (Stanley Marykuca) of Trenton, Ont., and three beautiful great-grandchildren; Paulina (Christopher Vesterfelt), Michayla and Dawson. She was very proud of her great-grandchildren and loved them very much. She was thankful for her niece Ines, who provided support to her over the years. She was especially grateful for her wonderful friends and caregivers, Denise and Dewar McIntosh. They have truly been her lifeline for many years and without them, her life might have been very different. We are so very grateful for their dedication to her for so many years. We would like to thank the staff at the Charleswood Care Centre for the exceptional care they have provided her for the last six years and Pastor Arden Boville who provided spiritual comfort to her. She will be remembered by her extended European family, her nieces and nephews, as well as her friends and supports in Canada.
