VIRGINIE MARIE RITA BERNARD (nee MCKAY) September 12, 1929 - February 8, 2016 Peacefully at Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville, Manitoba, Virginie Bernard, aged 86 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children Roland Bernard, Yvonne Bernard, Lorette Cote (Donald), William Bernard (Michelle), Gerald Bernard (Suzanne), Aline Bell (James), Armand Bernard (Shannon), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also left is her brother William McKay, and sister Maria Wallack. She was predeceased by her loving parents Tobie and Yvonne McKay, and her husband Raphael Bernard. She was also predeceased by her siblings Frank McKay, Romeo McKay, Yvette Medwedchuk, Elizabeth Byrne and Alex McKay. She was a devoted mother who loved and prayed for her family. We would like to thank the staff at Heritage Life Personal Care Home who became an extension of her family over the last two years. Funeral service will be held at St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church in St. Eustache, MB on Friday, February 12 at 1:00 p.m., with viewing one hour prior, cremation will follow with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Manitoba Children's Foundation.
