KANE WILLIAM CHARLES DANARD It is with a very heavy heart we announce that our Captain, Kane William Charles Danard, earned his wings while peacefully cuddling in Mommy's arms on Saturday, February 13, 2016 surrounded by family. Our Captain entered this world on September 29, 2012 and proved he was worthy of both the name, Kane (little warrior), and nickname, Captain Awesome, the day he was born. Faced with many medical issues, Kane showed us time and time again how strong and brave he was. Always ghting the good ght and teaching us many invaluable life lessons along the way. Simple things like a smile, a coo, a cuddle or a wave from the Captain would light up your day and were such precious gifts, forever cherished. Kane loved many things including going to the zoo, music class, reading stories, playing with his sister, spending time outside and most of all, he loved his cuddles. Our Captain had many adventures during his short time including seeing Thomas the Train, Elmo and Friends, going swimming, going to the beach and to the movies with Mommy and Daddy and even doing a 5K and 10K run with Mommy. Kane leaves to cherish his memory Mommy (Brenda Campbell); Daddy (Rob Danard); and baby sister Emma; Grandma Rae and Papa Tom (Campbell); Nana Trudy (Danard); Papa Keith (Danard); Great Papa Bill (Campbell); Auntie Debb (nee Campbell); Uncle Scott and Cousin Maggie (Nicol); Along with many great aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, Kane has some very special honourary aunties and a guardian angel who loved to spoil him. Our Captain is now soaring high above us with his great-grandparents, auntie, uncle and a special nurse. We would like to thank Kane's amazing team of doctors and nurses at Children's Hospital who took such good care of our Captain over the years. Dr. Faisal Al-Somali, Dr. Fran Booth, Dr. Gina Remple, Dr. Jennifer Griffen, Dr. Geertt Jong, Dr. Kristen Hamilton and the Pine team, CH4 Nurses, PICU Doctors and Nurses and so many more who took care of Kane. The staff at the Feeding Clinic at RCC and Kane's home care/ home therapy team; Angie, Bev, Dallas, Judy and Lori. A special thank you to the Palliative Care team, Simone, Dr. Robin, Dr. Chris and Dr. Bruce you were the best support team we could have asked for during this last month and helped guide us on our Captain's journey. To our Baby Boy, our Captain, thank you for allowing us to be your family. We could not have been more proud to call you our son. You were the most incredible gift and we will cherish every moment we had with you. We love and miss you more than we could ever say. Time to rest now Captain, forever our Super Soldier. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Hi Brenda, what a beautiful little guy. Thank you for sharing your memories of him - he sounds like he was such a light in your life and the lives of your whole family. My prayers are with you in this difficult time. I am thinking of you as one mother to another, even though the last time we talked was probably over 30 years ago. My love goes out to you and your family. Lindsay - Posted by: Lindsay Bolton (Nee Roberts) (Friends of family) on: Feb 23, 2016
