DAVID EDWARD TINKER
Born: Jan 06, 1947
Date of Passing: Dec 11, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID EDWARD TINKER January 6, 1947 - December 11, 2015 David - brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many - has moved on to his next quest. A true renaissance man, he had an answer or opinion on most things and although not always right, he was never wrong. He studied and worked as a nurse, a continental and sushi chef and most recently, as a multimedia and web designer. He also was a keen photographer and storyteller as was evident to anyone lucky enough to receive his e-missives expounding on the wonder of his beloved adopted city of Vancouver, where he lived for the past 30 plus years. He could easily out-Vancouver a native Vancouverite. And yes, there were the obligatory shots of blooming rhododendrons and cherry trees in February for the snow-bound folks in the Peg. Good on you Bro! Dave will be sorely missed by his brother Bob (Janet), niece Eva, the McGuff and Bunting clans, Robyn in Oz and his many friends. He was predeceased by his father Ed, mother Ada, step-dad Bruce and his dear friend Steve. Cremation has taken place and his ashes have been spread in a forest grove in BC. Friends and family are invited to a wake in David's honour to be held at the King's Head Pub, 120 King St., Winnipeg, Thursday, February 25, 7:00 p.m. to whenever.

I just found this obituary, I am so sorry to hear of Davids passing. We were room mates for almost 2 years in Vancouver. He was a really great guy and I enjoyed the time I lived there with him. We didn't eat together much, I'm a terrible cook but when he cooked it was always a great meal. All the best to his family and friends, Tony - Posted by: Tony Vanderbyl (Room mate) on: Dec 10, 2018

I met Dave in high school,,and our paths remained entwined for the rest of our lives. We ended up at University together, and worked at Eaton's photography department. One day we skipped classes to grab our cameras and snap some amazing pictures of the St. Boniface Basillica fire. One of many adventures we shared. Dave was also responsible for my joining Zeta Psi Fraternity, by convincing my over-protective father that it was a GOOD thing. And it was! Many of us joined Bob, Janet, Eva and Dave's family at the Kings Head Pub last night to hoist a pint ( or two) in honor of Dave. Tales were told,,and a few tears were shed. I'm quite certain that Dave approved! - Posted by: Larry Robinson (Friend and fraternity brothrr) on: Feb 26, 2016

I have fond memories of our days together at Frontenac School in Windsor Park... even if his was the deciding vote that kept me from becoming class president. He was as eclectic in his interests as I was and if my memory is right our mothers knew each other when they were Ada Bunting and Lily Wenham. Rest in peace David.
