TERENCE (TERRY) ANDREW MORRISON It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our husband and father Terry Morrison, on Saturday, February 13, 2016. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Patricia Legrand (Pascal); son, Bradley Morrison; son, Wade Morrison (Dragica); and grandson, Sava Terence Morrison. He will be deeply missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Ian and Marj Morrison; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Art and Ruth Loucks; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harvey and Sharron Halabuza; cousin, Sharon Norman (Arnold); and close friend, Wayne Stockton (Marie). Numerous extended family members and friends, stretching from British Columbia to Ontario, will further miss him. Dad was born on November 28, 1935 at Windthorst, Saskatchewan, the son of Alexander and Marion Morrison. He spent much of his childhood and his formative years in Maryfield, Saskatchewan. Following the completion of his secondary schooling, he eventually found his way to Yorkton, Saskatchewan, where he met and married Mom in April 1959 and where they started their family. While in Yorkton, Dad initially was an on-air announcer and later became an advertising account representative with CJGX Radio. Dad relocated the family to Regina, Saskatchewan in 1967, in order to take an advertising account representative position with CKCK Radio, where he developed long-lasting and cherished friendships with his colleagues. In 1976, Dad and the family moved to Winnipeg so that he could pursue his dream of operating a business as an owner and franchisee of Maaco Autopainting and Bodyworks. Through hard work and perseverance, Dad made his Maaco franchise a going concern and successfully ran it until 1988, when he decided to sell it and yet make another career change. From 1989 to 2003, Dad bridged his way to retirement by returning to sales marketing in the area of insulation and building products. Dad used his skills as a sales representative to successfully build up customer accounts and to establish solid business relationships with clients throughout Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. Subsequent to 2003, Dad was very fortunate to have enjoyed a lengthy, happy, and full retirement with Mom, and was able to focus on things that he loved, which included visiting with family and friends; golfing; traveling to Arizona with Mom in the winter; managing his investments; following politics and current affairs; being a life-coach to the family; and devoting time to his faith as part of the community of Christ The King Parish. Dad welcomed new family ties with the Legrand and Mraovic families through the marriages of his daughter, Patricia (Pascal Legrand) and son, Wade (Dragica Mraovic), in 2009 and 2011 respectively. Recently, in February 2015, Dad was most delighted about the birth of his first grandchild, Sava Terence, and was blessed to have been part of Sava's first year of life. Our family would like to express our gratitude to all family, friends and neighbours for their love, support and prayers during this difficult time. We would further like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Allan Schaffer and the Victoria General Hospital ICU nursing team (Anna and Damme) for the medical care that they gave to Dad. Finally, with respect to spiritual support, we are grateful for the assistance rendered by Lynn Granke (Victoria Hospital, Spiritual Care), Father Varghees Thoppilan (Christ The King) and Father Barry Schoonbaert (St. Vital Catholic Church). A mass celebrating Dad's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016, at Christ The King Church, 847 St. Mary's Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dad's memory can be made to the Christ The King Memorial Fund, 847 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2M 1P3. Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name, you are mine.
