FLORENCE ERHARDT March 3, 1932 - February 17, 2016 Peacefully, on February 17, Florence passed away at the age of 83. She leaves behind and will be dearly missed by her son Richard Vanderhorst (Susan); daughters, Joanne Vanderhorst (Jordan) and Laurel Vanderhorst; grandchildren: Jamie, Nicole (Luke), Zane, Shayle; sister Evelyn Kaminski (Ed); and her loving friend Walter Burtnick. Florence was born and grew up in Winnipeg. She worked for a few years for the City of Winnipeg, until she married Charles Vanderhorst where together they ran a market garden business and raised their family. After they divorced in 1973, Florence eventually found long term compatibility with her friend Walter. After a long battle with cancer, Florence spent her last weeks under the care of the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Florence remained active with her community of North Kildonan friends and family and enjoyed Friday night movies and many evenings dancing at the Royal Canadian Legion in East St. Paul. She loved life and will be remembered for her friendly, kind and supportive nature. A memorial service will be held at Edgewood Estates, 60 Whellams Lane on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for those who wish to attend.
