KAYLA ANDREA LYNN BIRD It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our daughter, Kayla Andrea Lynn Bird born May 13, 1990 at St. Boniface Hospital, passed away on February 24, 2016 at St. Boniface Hospital, aged 25 years. She leaves behind her one true love Mikkel Owens; and three beautiful daughters, Mary (6), Mikayla (3), and Miranne (2). She also leaves behind her daddy, Lawrence Bird and mommy, Samantha Bird; also her sisters, Sarah (Chris), Jessica (Cory), Beth (Gilbert) and Chelsea her baby sister and also Megan; her one niece Lily; her nephews, Zack, Christopher Jr, Samuel, Cyrus and Abel. She was predeceased by her gran Elizabeth Bird (James); Kookum Christina Bird; Mishoom William Bird; her aunt Bertha Fontaine and uncle John Bird. Kayla was the best of the family. She was compassionate, kind, loving, caring, honest and loyal. She was truly a unique person and when she made friends they were friends for life. She also leaves behind her in-laws Michael Owens and Nellie Crowe who held a special place in our daughter's heart. She always told us how wonderful they were and through everything we witnessed what she meant and we are truly thankful for how they watched and protected our daughter. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Adam Andrews and Dr. Ashcroft and Dr. Heather Smith and all the medical staff of ICMS of St. Boniface Hospital. With all our love, we thank you for your humanity and your hard work and your compassion in caring for Kayla, our daughter. The wake began on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and will continue until Monday, February 29 at 12:00 noon at the Black River Band Hall.
