Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMIGUEL BRIONES LOPEZ Peacefully, on March 2, 2016, at his residence, Miguel Briones; beloved husband of Evelina, passed away at the age of 72 years. Miguel is lovingly remembered by his wife Evelina; their children: Vanessa (Alex) Hernandez, Jaime (Jenny) Briones; grandchildren: Diego and Pedro Hernandez, Tatiana Briones, MaKayla Hernandez and Katja Briones. As well as a community of extended family and close friends. Miguel was born the son of Benigna Rosa and Rosalindo Briones of Santiago, Chile. Raised by his grandparents on a farm, he loved sharing his story of coming to Canada to make a better life for his family. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was a voracious reader, enjoyed singing and playing guitar, and family fishing and camping trips. Later in life, there was nothing more dear to him than spending time with his five adoring grandkids. After some time apart, the past five years were spent re-newing friendships, rekindling love and reconnecting as a family. His caring spirit and love of life is a legacy that will live on with his children and grandchildren. A celebration of Miguel's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Miguel to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
