KAREN POLLARD Tragically on Friday, February 26, 2016 Karen Diane Pollard passed away, just a few days before what would have been her 45th birthday on March 5. Karen's life has not been easy and while we mourn her death, we are grateful her pain and struggles are over and she is now finally at peace. Karen grew up in St. James with her parents Bob and Joan (Hoeschen) Pollard and her sister Megan. Karen was a "daddy's girl", and became a talented tradesperson after learning all she knew from her dad. She was also a very gifted artist. Karen's favourite place on earth was the family cabin at West Hawk Lake. It was here that she was happiest and she spent many enjoyable summers there with extended family and friends. Karen is survived by her sister Megan; Megan's son Jack; special friend Richard and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved dad Bob; mom Joan; her grandparents and other family members. Karen has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I believe this is the same Karen I knew from Bruce Junior High.. she was an amazing and outspoken strong spirited soul! We had our ups and downs but had a respect for each other she was an amazing kind spirited person that certainly was opinionated as any child would have been. I remember seeing her at West Hawk Lake and her remembering me which was shocking but also flattering. From what I understand she had difficulties and challenged them all but she had a impressionable impact on life and me hence why I searched her out and am terribly saddening by the result it produced. RIP and wish this wasn’t the way I would reconnect with you 🙏😪 - Posted by: Allan Platsko (Friend) on: Mar 23, 2024

  • Too soon. Growing up we were like two rowdy peas in a crazy pod. So many fun and good times with her. Karen & Darren. More than a handful for any unsuspecting parent or guardian. This madness carried on into our twenties whenever our paths crossed with lots of laughs and a brother/sister-like bond that would endure even though we drifted apart the last few years of her life. I miss her. She was a "hoot!" (she would giggle at that.) "And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun." - Posted by: Darren Hoeschen (Cousin) on: Feb 15, 2019
