GERALD DOAK After a brief illness, my devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather passed away peacefully on March 22, 2016 at the Selkirk General Hospital. For those who knew Gerry, they knew he was full of life. He loved people, was always there to lend a helping hand and enjoyed a good debate. He built our dream house in St. Andrews where we spent the last roughly 40 years of our 62 year relationship. We enjoyed many things together over our lifetime, including countless cups of tea. I will miss him dearly as will his daughters, Debi and Elaine; and his sons, Martin, Gerry and Grant. His brother Clayton passed many years ago as did his sister Belva. He will be missed by his twin brother Cliff and his sisters Marlene and Darlene. I can't begin to list all those who were part of his life, but I know you are thinking of him during this difficult time. But I would ask you to think fondly of the many good memories of Gerry and the good times we all had together. Thank you for your thoughts. In lieu of flowers, I ask you to donate to the CancerCare of Manitoba. Gerry received great care over the past few weeks. I am truly thankful to the many health care workers who allowed him to live in peace and dignity over his final few weeks. A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at Selkirk United Church. A private interment will follow later. Sincerely Mrs. Alice Doak. Gerry was one who could do a hundred things at once and do them all well. Any time I had one more job that had to be done, there he was off and running to the next Coca-Cola machine that needed his expertise. I remember many of the good times had by all at the Coca-Cola Cooler Shop parties at your home. Over the years since Gerry retired, his name would come up in conversations amongst the guys and there was always a good "Doak" story. Sorry to hear of your loss. - Posted by: Caroline Irvine (Worked together at Coca-Cola) on: Mar 31, 2016
