Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE ANTHONY SUPEENE November 17, 1928 - March 29, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and "best buddy". George passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on March 29, 2016. Even though George struggled with recovering from a stroke in 2010, he never lost his sense of humour and desire to live life as best as he could under the care of Riverview healthcare professionals. He was predeceased by his parents (George and Alice), his son (Richard), his brother (Robert), sister (Doris) and brothers-in-law (John and Harry). George will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years (Georgette), his son Ken (Charlotte), his daughter Julie (Stan) and his daughter-in-law (Yvonne); Grandchildren Jason (Shelly), Curtis (Kerry), Ryan and Crystal; Great- grandchildren Brianna, Jakob, Avah and Gareth; Step great- grandchildren Cody, Avery and Chantel. He will also be missed by his brother Lenny (Pat), Sister Margie (Frank); sisters-in-law Joyce and Mariette, Sylvia and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. George was born in Winnipeg and grew up in St. Boniface. He married his childhood sweetheart (Georgette) in 1948 and raised a family together continuing to live in St. Boniface (Windsor Park). George was a kind and caring man who loved spending time with Georgette, family and friends. George worked at several jobs but built a career with the Winnipeg Police Service. He joined the police force on June 1, 1953 dedicating 35 years before retiring in 1988 as Staff Inspector. Some of his favorite pastimes were spent with Georgette visiting friends at the Belgium club or Norwood Legion. They both enjoyed traveling abroad, having taken many trips together. One favorite holiday destination was Weslaco, TX, escaping the cold Winnipeg winters. George enjoyed life to its fullest. A private memorial service with family will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd, Winnipeg, MB The family would also like to extend a sincere thank-you to all the staff who cared for George. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Shriners Hospital or a charity of choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
