BRUCE RALPH SEMAN August 31, 1947 - March 10, 2016 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic loss of Bruce Seman, in Mesa, Arizona. Bruce was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, husband, uncle and friend. He is predeceased by his father William, mother Alba, his stepfather Fred Kruckeberg, his first wife Beverley, son Richard (Ricky), second wife Donna and brother-in-law Bryan Caithness. He leaves to mourn, his son Bruce (Denise), grandson Jarrod, sister Gail Caithness (Brian) and brothers, Bill (Darlene) and Randy (Lee). Bruce also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born and raised in Winnipeg, he attended Churchill High School. He started work at Canadian Pacific Railway as a machinist apprentice, at the young age of 15. He completed his apprenticeship and worked his craft until retiring from CPR at age 55. Bruce met Beverley Delore, married very young and started a family. They had two sons, Bruce (Shawn) and Richard. Tragically, they lost their youngest son Ricky very early. After many years of marriage and although they had been parted, Bruce spent many hours at Beverley's side, caring for her through her illness with cancer, until she passed away in 1995. After Beverley, Bruce met Donna Friesen, the love of his life, his soul-mate. He and Donna spent many years together and finally married in 1995, until Donna's passing in 2005. Bruce and Donna enjoyed many trips travelling and spending time together. Although they had travelled to so many wonderful places, they most enjoyed the simple things - walking, biking, hiking, camping and dancing. They were a perfect match. It was in 1999 that Bruce became a grandfather and enjoyed time with his grandson Jarrod. He especially loved the times playing guitar together. Dad would also play harmonica, with a passion for the music of Bob Dylan. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and enjoyed his times at the Rockwood and St. James Legions. He loved dancing to the music of the bands and had made many good friends from his times there. Fort Rouge School was where Bruce volunteered as a martial arts instructor. He was known to help many of his students by purchasing uniforms for them. Bruce also volunteered at Siloam Mission. By himself or with a companion, he enjoyed travelling all around the world. He was passionate about running, martial arts and exercise. Martial Arts were a focus of his life. He was dedicated to the sport and enjoyed travelling to Thailand and Korea to learn. He enjoyed the cultures and camaraderie that he experienced during those times. Bruce wished for every day to be an adventure in life. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 6, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, located at 61 Picardy Pl., Winnipeg, with lunch to follow. A private family interment will be held at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Siloam Mission in his memory. His first wife Bev & I were best friends, and I miss her immensely too. Bruce was a special friend to me, we had many conversations which always ended with "I love you friend". I would say "I love you too". He would say "Have a good one". Well Bruce I hope you're finally having a good one too in Heaven.
