ROBERT ANDREW BRYDGES September 3, 1928 April 6, 2016 Retired City of Winnipeg Fire Department Chief With deepest sorrow the Brydges family announces the passing of Robert (Bob) on April 6, 2016. Dad was born in Winnipeg to Mary and Herb Brydges and lived in East Kildonan until he met Jean, his beloved wife of 67 years. Dad joined the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1952 and was very proud of his 35 years of service. Dad was an avid sports minded man who loved to watch his sporting games on TV. He also curled for many years with the Fire Department and was President of the former Civic Caledonian Curling Club. He also enjoyed his bowling and pals in the senior league at St. Vital and Dakota Lanes and later his wii-bowling at Dakota House. Bob was father to Dave (Helen), Debbie (Ray), Laurie (Dave), Rick (Del), Cheryl (Gord) and Jamie (Cathy). He was grandfather to 12 grandchildren and to 12 great-grandchildren. He was brother to Muriel (Doug) and brother-in-law to Roy (Bev) and Bill. He was predeceased by his grandson Cody. Many thanks to all at Dakota House for their support and kindness. A memorial for family and friends in Bob's memory will be held at Dakota House, 1145 Dakota Street at 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Rest in peace Dad, we will all miss you.
