HAZEL GRETCHEN HERMAN (nee HAYCOCK) On Wednesday, April 6, 2016 Hazel passed away at Middlechurch Nursing Home, at the age of 84. Hazel was born in Winnipeg September 2, 1932. She grew up on Martin Avenue in Winnipeg and Inwood, Manitoba attending Union Prairie School. As an adult, Hazel worked as a Nurse's Aide at Holiday Haven Nursing Home among other care homes. Always giving of herself, Hazel was a very generous person. She also volunteered at Stella Mission and was always trying to help people. Hazel was from a very musical family. During the early years everyone either sang, played at least one instrument or both. Hazel and her sisters would get together, pull out the guitar, sing the old songs and harmonize during family gatherings. Hazel was predeceased by her husband John, parents Roy and Elsie Haycock, siblings Clifford, Roy, Mary, Hilda, Elsie, and son Mark. Hazel is survived by one sister Reta (Boyd) and family, daughter Brenda and family, daughter-in-law Phyllis and family, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We would like to thank staff at Middlechurch Nursing Home for their kindness, support and care of Hazel during her stay with them. Hazel so enjoyed talking and visiting with everyone there. In keeping with Hazel's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment and gathering will be held at a later date.
