Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySAM POTTER It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Sam Potter at the age of 91. Sam was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Sam is survived by his wife Marcia, daughters Janet Scott and Meryl Potter, sons Mark (Susan) Potter and Sheldon Potter, grandchildren Shaun Scott, Heather-Rose Scott, Aaron Potter, Rebbekka Potter, Chase Potter, Tysen Potter, Sasha Potter, and great-grandchild Rayne Scott. He spent 57 years as a manufacturer's representative in the garment industry in Winnipeg. His territory stretched from the Lakehead to the Rocky Mountains. He was a long time president of the Prairie Apparel Market, a member of the Board of the Alberta Fashion Market and a long time member of the Canadian Association of Wholesale Salesmen and North West Commercial Travellers Association. Sam was a friend and always there to help someone in need. He was always there to help without expectation of recognition. Sam took pride in his family and made sacrifices so that they may be raised in a lifestyle that he was not afforded as a young boy. He had a 69 year love and marriage with the woman of his dreams, Marcia, together they raised four children, blessed with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Sam and Marcia spent the last three years together at the Simkin Nursing Home where the staff always remarked how much in love they were sitting side by side holding hands. Sam was a skilled and competitive bridge player and enjoyed his weekly games with his friends. Graveside service was held April 22, officiated by Rabbi Green at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
