Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENDRIKUS DEBEER 1932 - 2016 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and opa, Henk DeBeer. Henk passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Henk will be lovingly missed by his wife, Laura, their children, Harry (Debbie), Wilma (Hilary), Mary-Anne (Ted), Larry, Mike, and Donna (Larry), eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Henk was predeceased by his parents, Hendrikus and Geertruida, as well as by daughter-in-law Cindy. Henk was born in Noorden Zuid in the Netherlands and was the fourth son in the family, with 10 brothers and five sisters. Henk journeyed to Canada in 1952 and returned to marry his childhood sweetheart in 1955. They made their home in Swan Lake and later in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Henk loved his family, fishing, and gardening and dedicated his life to all three. He will be remembered for his work as an orderly and as a market gardener, to name but two of his many talents and interests. Henk was well known for his subtle wit and optimistic outlook on life. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Saint Timothy Parish, 135 John Forsyth Road, Winnipeg, with reception to follow. Private interment for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
