DOROTHY PRITCHARD (nee IVENS) Dorothy was born in London, England. At the age of six, the Second World War changed her childhood drastically. Her parents chose to send her and her older brother, Derek to live away from London. They lived with a foster family for protection from the bombings. She was also separated from her brother for a couple of years, until finally at the age of 10 the war was over and she was able to return to her family. As a young woman, Dorothy had an adventurous spirit. She decided to live in Canada. She travelled on her own and settled in Toronto, Ontario. She met and married Norman Pritchard, the father of her two sons: Hugh and Neil. Her young family moved many times within Ontario and Quebec. Finally in 1977 they settled and remained in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In the early 1990s she found herself single again and lived on her own. She became a grandmother and loved to spend time with her two grandsons: Curtis and Troy. Suddenly she was taken from us on April 25, 2016. She will be greatly missed by her family: Hugh, Neil and Tina, as well as her grandsons Curtis and Troy. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place at Cropo Funeral Chapel and there will not be a Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory at the Winnipeg Humane Society.
