Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNANCY RAINES (nee KENNEDY) October 31, 1924 - Winnipeg, MB May 7, 2016 - Calgary, AB Cherished mother of Doug (Carole) and Libby. Nancy is also survived by Doug and Carole's children, Shaun (Shelby) and Matt and grandchild Ruby, by her beloved brother and sister-in-law Donald and Nancy Kennedy and by nieces and nephews in Ontario, Manitoba and Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband Ted in 2009 and her sister Dorothy in 2015. Nancy's kindness, compassion, humour and endless generosity were immediately evident to all who met her. A life long giver, she devoted countless hours to various good works, including children's theatre through the Junior League, the CNIB for whom she transcribed documents into Braille, Daffodil Days and Meals on Wheels among many others. The family thank the staff at Garrison Green Seniors Community for their affection, devoted care and attention. At Nancy's request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of a truly beautiful spirit will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Quest Theatre, Bay 9, 6143 - 4th Street S.E., Calgary, T2H 2H9 or the CNIB - cnib.ca.
