ANGUS A. MACDONALD
Date of Passing: May 16, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANGUS A. MACDONALD Angus passed away peacefully on May 16, 2016. Predeceased by his much beloved and sorely missed wife Pat, he is survived by his son Grant (Nancy), daughter Christie (Phil), and grandchildren Cole, Kate, Elizabeth and Catherine. Gus started working for the Canadian Grain Commission at age 18 in Victoria. He rose through the ranks to eventually retire as Director of Inspections at the head office in Winnipeg. His work took him across the country and around the world many times. He was rightfully proud of his long and dedicated service to the Commission and to the Public Service of Canada. Following retirement he and Pat returned to Victoria. They enjoyed many happy years there. Throughout his life Dad really enjoyed both curling and golfing - the camaraderie, and the competition. Dad was very proud of his family. He worked hard to ensure that his family could have a comfortable life, and so his children could further their education. He saw education as a path to a life that was not only secure, but also, and more importantly, fulfilling. We have reaped what he sowed. You didn't have to know Dad too long to realize that when things were at their worst, he was at his best. He faced the loss of his beloved Pat, and then his final months, with a stoicism few could equal. Per his request, there will be no service. Flowers gratefully declined. If you wish to honour Dad's memory, consider contributing to a family RESP, or a donation to a university of your choice. Little would make him happier than the thought of a young person furthering their education.

Angus was truly bigger than life. When it came to getting things done, I can't remember anyone I ever worked with that approached every task with such passion. He loved to work hard. His approach to everything he did was utmost professionalism. He was very proud of Grant and Christie and all of their accomplishments. - Posted by: Rick Bevilacqua (friend & colleague) on: May 20, 2016
