ANDREA NADINE BODIE June 10, 1975 - May 13, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrea Bodie on May 13, 2016. Andrea Nadine Bodie was the person you wanted to sit next to at a party. She had a megawatt smile, a sharp sense of humour, and the best laugh in the world. A hard worker, Andrea made straight A's, and good friends while she pursued excellence. She used her gifts to help others, taking Psychology at the University of Winnipeg, working with Social Services, and CFS. Andrea bravely left her career to follow her dream of being a writer. She freelanced for over 15 years, working on scripts, screenplays and manuscripts in her spare time, finally writing for W.R.H.A. No one set the mood better than Andrea, and she always had the right hair, outfit and soundtrack. Highly intuitive, she had a very rich spiritual and private life. Andrea did things on her own terms: with passion, mischievousness and style. She lives on in the hearts of those who love her. A celebration of Andrea's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • I met Andrea's Mom today (June 9, 2018) at the bakery where she was buying a cake to remember Andrea's birthday. As a random act of kindness and in honour of Andrea she paid for my purchase. I repaid this act of kindness by making a donation in Andrea's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. I never met Andrea but she must have been amazing given how special her Mother is. - Posted by: Heather Leonoff (Random stranger who met her Mom) on: Jun 09, 2018

  • It is so hard to explain Andrea. She was a fabulous writer, and would only accept perfection in her work, always knew the right words to say, she always found the most appropriate gifts for people, her smile was contagious and she gave her all to every person she met. She was a great listener and just always made you feel special. I will miss our noon lunches and the great laughs we had together. She would always end our conversations with "Make sure you do something nice for yourself today" give a wave and off she would go. My thoughts and prayers to her Mom and family. - Posted by: Audrey Kuny (Friend and Co-worker) on: May 19, 2016

  • I am incredibly saddened by the loss of Andrea. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, sense of humour and work ethic were outstanding. She stopped by my desk every morning to see how I was doing and to advise me to "be gentle with myself". I'll remember those words forever. I am so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Nicole Sinclair Martell (Friend and co-worker) on: May 19, 2016
