GARY GLENN MANNING
Date of Passing: May 14, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGARY GLENN MANNING On Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Victoria Hospital, Gary passed into an everlasting peaceful sleep. Born in Morden, MB., to parents Edith and Glenn Manning, he will be fondly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Barb, along with his older son, Bob, and grandchildren Kailie and Cole; younger son, Jim, (Katie) and granddaughter Maisie; brother Dale and sister Valerie; as well as many friends and acquaintances. Gary was a good man and an excellent father. His enthusiasm for mechanics was the driving force behind his sons' continued interest in motors. He was the "repairman" for any neighbor's lawn mower, water or septic tank pump, motorcycle, snowmobile, car - any type of motor - until his sons followed suit in recent years. He had been a qualified scuba diver. His hobbies had been flying remote controlled airplanes and photography, but by far his greatest passion was the 40 plus years of cottage life spent at Falcon Lake. As per Gary's wishes, cremation has taken place with his ashes to be dispersed at a later date. Gary was adamant he did not want any funeral service, but a summer "Celebration of Life" is being planned to which friends will be invited once details are finalized.

Sorry to hear of Gary's passing ... he's still a youngster in my mind. I worked with him back in the 70s, when I knew him to be the "whiz-kid" on the old IBM-1401 computer at the University of Manitoba. I remember a great guy, very tolerant of a "green" student such as I. Thanks Gary !! - Posted by: Ian J Brown (Work Associate) on: Aug 14, 2017

Hello Barb, Bob, Jim, and family, I'm so sorry to hear about Gary's passing. Bobby, I think of the late nights in the garage, and he always had those pieces of wisdom to add to whichever project you were working on. At the same time, he would listen intuitively to what you boys were trying to accomplish. Having had similar working experiences with my father, I know how much you will be missing him. Keep all those special memories alive. Our thoughts go out to all of your family as he definitely loved his family first. - Posted by: Wes Anderson (Friend) on: May 27, 2016

I worked with Gary at Royal Trust back in the '80s and he was a true friend to me, giving me friendly advice on everything from dealing calmly with angry clients, to lending, to car repairs. He was always positive, good-humoured and kind, a good man. My sincere condolences to Barb and the family. - Posted by: Doreen Sigurdson (friend) on: May 25, 2016

Barb, I will never forget the time you and Gary rescued me and my two kids from a leaky camper. You put us up for the night and took us boating the next day. I have many fond memories of you and your family, and my heart goes out to you as you begin your journey of grief. Take care. - Posted by: Cheryl Collins (Neighbour) on: May 21, 2016
