WILLIAM BORCIK April 26, 1941 - May 22, 2016 Peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2016, William Borcik passed away with his family by his side. He leaves to mourn his wife Judy Monro, his daughters Wendy Turkewich (Richard), Brenda Borcik (Ryan), his sister Louise Carter (Robert), step children Carrie Compton (Ryan), Rodney and Greg Monro, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his wife Veronica Borcik and his parents Michael and Emily Borcik. Dad worked hard for Canada Post Office but always found time to enjoy the simple pleasures that he enjoyed so much; going to the cottage on weekends, spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing and the beauty of nature. After the loss of his wife, dad was lucky and found love again. He welcomed a new family and many friends into his heart that so many will miss. His love has joined our two families together. A celebration of William's life will be held on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave at Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba in memory of William.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Please accept my love and condolences. Bill was a kind and wonderful man. - Posted by: Maureen Daoust (Family Friend) on: May 30, 2016

  • Words seem weak in comparison to the loss my "extended" family is dealing with. Had known Bill since an early pre-teen, and consider him, as well as all the kin, as part of my family. Was lucky enough to spend many wonderful summer weekends at Matlock with all. Fondly remember where he smoked kolbasa in his handmade brick built smoker. Brings back fond memories where our combined families spent many hours eating, laughing & simply just sharing good times every Saturday night. Those happy summer moments combined with living across the lane from us bring more happy memories. I recall one specific instance where he took Wendy and I to go see Star Wars, a surprise to both of us but a memory I hang on to. We didn't have much and for him to take us rag tagged gals to a movie, one he instinctively knew was worth the price of the ticket, still resonates and I hold dear. Without him I wouldn't have one of my best friends, wonderful Godchildren, and a second family that even with some long distance absences we pick up exactly where we left off. Without his guidance and his quiet ways am positive that I would not be reaping the benefits of the treasured relationships I have now. For that I am eternally grateful for having him as part of my life; without Bill and his gentle guiding hand I would not have such loving, enduring & honest relationships not just with him, but those he has guided along the way. You are missed much, and sending much love and hugs to all my "extended" family... Gayle 💗 - Posted by: Gayle Newton (Friends, but family at heart) on: May 30, 2016
