Date of Passing: May 23, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES MEDERSKI Peacefully on May 23, 2016 at St. Boniface Hospital Chuck Mederski, aged 86 years, passed away. Left to cherish in his memory are his wife Joyce, son Jim Mederski, daughter Janice Smith (Allan), his three grandsons, Jeffrey Mederski (Amanda Cipriano), Bradley Mederski (Dana Waterman-Mederski), and Andrew Smith, great-grandson Conner Mederski, sister Sue Trist, brother-in-law Bob Colbert, and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the United States. Chuck was predeceased by his parents John Mederski and Teenie Mederski, sisters Emily Zubricki, Wanda Retzlaff, Josephine Fowler, and brother Bill Mederski. Chuck attended King Edward and Isaac Newton Schools and then began his career in 1948 when he was hired at Monarch Life Assurance Company, retiring in 1986. It was there that he met Joyce and their life journey evolved into 63 years of marriage. Chuck will always be remembered for his witty sense of humour. He had a wonderful artistic talent creating many paintings and drawings that illustrated his boyhood memories growing up in the north end. His best drawings by far were of the cartoon characters he created of his family members that simply burst with his brilliant sense of humour. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Emergency Room staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, the staff of the Cardiac Unit 5A along with Dr. G. Balko of the St. Boniface Clinic. Chuck's Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., with interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A special thanks is extended to long-time friends, Sid and Alma Longstaff whose friendship is forever cherished, and to our Uncle Bob. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society, or a charity of one's choice. Mrs. Mederski and Family, my heart goes out to you all. It is very difficult to let a loved one go. Especially, when it's your Husband and Father. His memories will always live on in your heart and in time you will smile over something you shared. I remember Mr. Mederski when we walked to Pierre Radisson Collegiate. He would be doing yard work or coming and going. Thinking of your family Lorelei ( Allsopp) - Posted by: Lorelei ( Allsopp) (Friend ) on: May 28, 2016
