DALE SHELDON MANN August 6, 1962 - May 31, 2016 Thunder Walking Across the Sky Man After a short aggressive battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of beloved husband and da-da, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law, big poppa, godfather and friend, Dale Mann. In the loving arms of his dear wife Sandy, Dale crossed into the spirit world joining his parents William and Verna Mann and his brother Dennis Dwight Mann. Left to cherish his love, laughter and memory is his wife Sandy; fur baby Maggie; his siblings, Wayne, Bev (Keith), Monica (Ivan), Gerri (Gene), Maxine (Mark), Arlene (Dave), Don, and Todd (Sarah); his father and mother-in-law Jack and Eleneor Musgrave, in-laws, Michelle, Joanne, Gina (Sonny), and John (Maria) along with his numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Born in Pine Falls, Manitoba, Dale was the proud great great-grandson of Kakekapenaise of Treaty 1 territory and Sagkeeng First Nation. Dale was our family comedian who had a remarkable ability of sharing stories with enthusiasm providing colourful detail drawing laughter from all those around him. Dale also had a love for rock music where he enjoyed playing the guitar and drums, and attended many rock concerts with friends and family. Once, at a Tragically Hip concert, Dale managed to make a 'guest appearance' on stage until security had to protect him from the screaming fans, quickly escorting him off. Dale also inspired people to challenge their comfort zone and live life to the fullest where his words provided motivation and strength to his many loved ones. These words along with his love, hugs and kisses will forever be missed and cherished. Dale was a proud yet private man whose acts of kindness and compassion were extended beyond his family and friends helping those in need wherever he could. A dedicated public service employee with the federal government for 17 years, Dale worked in several departments such as Service Canada, Canadian Heritage and was a Program Officer at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada. We would like to thank his colleagues for all the love and support during his diagnosis and battle. We also wish to thank CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface - Dr. Dhali Dhaliwal, Dr. Bruce Kowaluk, Nurses - Maya, Heather and Deborah, Social Worker - Christine, Chemo Nurses - Crystal, Cheryl and others, the ER staff, and 6E staff for their support and kindness. Thank you to Manidoo for all the love and support during Dale's illness and continued support. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to D'arcy's A.R.C. in his memory. Prayer Vigil will be held on Monday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m. and Mass on Tuesday, June 7, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Roman Catholic Parish, 847 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg. Internment at a later date. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Wayne Mann Jr., Brennan Mann, Jordan Brown, Ryan Boulanger, Grant Mann-Beaudry and Kayden Musgrave. Honourary Pallbearers will be Wayne Mann Sr., Don Mann, Todd Mann, Shannon Mann, John Musgrave and Gordon Hossack. I love you up to the sky and when you get there way past that. Condolences & Memories (14 entries)

  • I am torn apart right now. Dale and I were like brothers and for reasons I do not understand had not seen one another for a very long time. I was unaware of his passing until running into a mutual friend a few days ago. Dale was one of the most incredible people I have ever known and memories of times spent with him and Sandy are flooding me right now. We spent so many nights listening to music together, having theme nights for the likes of Rush and many others. I am truly devastated. Love to all who are and have mourned, Sandy I pray you are well. • Sending my Condolences to the Mann Family. Over the last year I had the privilege and honor of meeting Dale. As I was doing my final rounds of the evening at INAC, Dale and I would reminisce about our younger years watching live bands at the Arena and also at a Night Club I once worked at. He had a great knowledge of music as well as the good ole Hockey Days. We would chat longer than we should have at times and I wouldn't change it for the World. Goodbye my Friend until we meet again. - Posted by: Derrick Taschuk (Securty Guard at INAC.) on: Jun 29, 2016
