ROBERT HAROLD BEATTIE We hugged Bob in his final moment with us on Friday, May 20, 2016. He will be so missed by Sheila his wife of 24 years. He was predeceased by his Mother, Father, his wife Mary; brother William; sisters, Jerry, Cleo, Marian and Barbara. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sister Laura; daughters, Laura, Catherine, Kerston and Megan (David); stepchildren Colleen (Gil), Daniel (Sheryl), Thomas (Aileen), Meegan; grandchildren, Sarah (Remi), Brodie, Chandra, Abey (Wendy), Ryan, Geoffrey, Andrew (Ashley), Robin, Sydney, Cooper, Kinzie, Samuel Robert, Emma, Josh, Hope; and five great-grandchildren. Bob was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and attended Gordon Bell High School, proudly joined the Militia, graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in economics. Upon graduation he joined Shell Canada and enjoyed 31 years of employment. He retired in B.C. after many years of living and travelling across Canada. Bob enjoyed many pastimes - scuba diving, golf, gardening, poker with the "Shell Boys," woodworking, travelling and you guessed it "chocolate chip cookies." He loved a party and getting together with family and friends, therefore a Celebration of Life is planned for June 11, 2016, at the Hazelmere Country Club 18150-8th Ave. Surrey, BC from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We would like to thank Dr. Gerry Roberts, Dr. Skepasts, Tushani, Randy, Nerisa, Diane, the wonderful Palliative Care Group, and the Bayshore Care Ladies. In lieu of flowers please honour the White Rock Hospice Society, 15510 Russell Ave. White Rock, BC V4B 2R3.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • So sorry to hear that Bob passed away. He hired me back in 72 for Shell Canada. I started calling him uncle Bob right away. He was one of the best boss I ever had. It was a sad day when he left Winnipeg. Another angel watching over us. R.I.P. uncle Bob! Till we meet again. Sincerely Gaby. - Posted by: Gaby Lemieux (Ex worker) on: Jun 11, 2016
