FAY RASCH It is with great sadness that the family of Fay Rasch announce her passing on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the age of 100 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband Roy R. Rasch and her parents, Bluma and Gavril Freedman, brother David Freedman, and sisters, Eva Hirsch and Rita Lepkin. She is survived and remembered by her sons, Michael Rasch (Audrey) and Bernard Rasch (Joan). Grandchildren, Jesse Rasch (Julie), Chloe (Mark) Solarno, Janelle and Daniel, and seven great-grandchildren. She will be truly missed by her sisters-in-law, Claire Pudavick and Myna Simkin and many nieces and nephews. Fay was born in Winnipeg on April 4, 1916. During her long lifetime, she was a loving mother and was dedicated to her husband and sons. She was an astute business woman operating a woman's dress shop just after the Second World War. She was an avid reader and bridge player. Nothing made Mom happier than preparing and getting together for a family dinner. She will be remembered as a wonderful mentor and guide to her sons. Her words of wisdom and guidance will never be forgotten. She had many friends and was possessed with a great passion for life. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Victoria General Hospital ER and the fourth floor. Funeral services will be held today, Friday, June 17, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue Cemetery (graveside). In memory of Mom (if desired), donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity of your choice. Fay will be lovingly remembered, sadly missed, forever in our hearts. Your loving family.
