HELEN JOAN REYNOLDS (née GARDNER) On June 15, 2016 Helen passed away with no regrets, having lived a good life of 95 years. Predeceased by husband George and son Allan, Helen leaves behind, son Michael (Adele), granddaughters Jordan, and Darcy; son Neil (Nicole), granddaughters Dominique (Greg), Brigitte (Chris), Vanessa (Tim), Véronique (Kevin), and Justine (Scott); daughter Linda, grandchildren James, and Grace; great-grandchildren Xavier, Sidonie; Anouk, Lara; Bruno, Ludovic, Otilia; Pénélope, and Charlotte. Also survived by sister Edith Brown (Vancouver), brother Verne (Virden), and extended family on both the Reynolds and Gardner sides. Feeling fortunate to be born to kind parents in a rural setting (Lenore, MB), in a great country, she married a loving, honest, hardworking husband. Raising a family in Norwood, Helen was dedicated to her family and community through school, church, and charity work. She extended her support and encouragement to the next generations, especially in regard to their thirst for knowledge. Helen and George built a cottage at Falcon Lake which they enjoyed for many years. Having a passion for reading and nature, being a patron of the arts, and an avid sports fan, she hoped to pass on these loves to her family. She believed firmly in the goodness of people. Her family will always remember elaborate Christmas Day celebrations, including thoughtful gifts, fantastic brunches, and epic Christmas dinners. In her own words, "let me touch you with love while passing" is the message she would want us to be left with. Helen received great care in her most recent years from Riverside Lions Residence and Golden Links Lodge. Those wishing to honour Helen's memory can follow in her legendary support of various charities by donating to a charity of their choice. A private family celebration is planned. • TO Linda Mike and Neil, I'm so very very sorry , I did not know of the passing of your mom or Allan either til today which is Mar 17 / 07. Shows you how much I read the paper, especially the obits , I guess maybe I don't want to know. I will always remember your mom and dad for the graciousness they showed myself and my mom. I have many great memories of them, the cottage and both Lady and Zeb. As I sit and write this I already can see your dad waking me at 6 for a swim . And to this day its my favorite time to be on the shore ,and your mom bringing lunch down to me at the dock cause I would forget to go up to eat. Was just having to much fun. To Aunty Helen , Uncle George, Neil, I hope you are visiting with my parents and my husband Ken : Til we meet again . • Michael, Neil & Linda - I remember your mother as a kind lady, worthy of a child's utmost respect, as a boy growing up in Norwood. More recently, my dear late mom Jean Mooney, would frequently speak to me of her close friendship with your mom. I believe we grew up in a special time due to the really sweet love of our mothers. I don't know that they make them like that any more! Jackson - Posted by: Jackson Mooney () on: Jun 23, 2016

  • Dear Linda, Michael and Neil caring thoughts and prayers on the passing of your Mom. I am so glad we have reconnected Linda and that I got to visit with your Mom a few years ago. I am so thankful for the welcome your Mom and family gave me so very long ago when I moved to the city. Our Moms are going to have a grand old time now like in their childhood.
