LUC JOSEPH FOUILLARD January 2, 1928 - June 28, 2016 Luc passed away peacefully in his sleep at Actionmarguerite (Saint-Vital) personal care home at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his loving wife and lifelong companion Lucille, his parents, Jean Marie Fouillard and Marie Anne Tremblay; his brother George Fouillard; and his sister Anne Marie Gilkes. He is survived by his brother Jean Marie Fouillard; his son Marc (Colleen); and his four grandchildren, Robert, Danielle, Monique, and Rachelle. Luc grew up in St. Lazare, MB before moving to Winnipeg to pursue an education and obtaining degrees in arts and civil engineering. On July 30, 1955 he married the love of his life Lucille, and his only son Marc was born the following year. His young family found themselves living in Virden, Calgary, and The Pas before returning permanently to Winnipeg in 1965 to settle in Windsor Park. After spending time in the oil fields of Manitoba and Alberta Luc began a lengthy career with the Manitoba Department of Highways, retiring in 1992. Mom and Dad loved to travel. Their passports boast stamps of more than 40 countries around the world. They travelled throughout Europe, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Hawaii, Mexico and all over Canada and the United States. Dad also spent much of his 20-year retirement enjoying his new found love for golf. He and his buddies hit the links virtually every morning when the weather was fair. Dad was a kind, gentle and honest man. He did not have a judgmental bone in his body. His friendly approachable nature allowed him to freely chat with absolutely anybody about absolutely anything. The last several years of his life were compromised by the effects of several strokes which left him wheelchair bound. He never ever complained about the cruel card he was dealt. He accepted his fate with grace and dignity. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. with viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Luc's memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
