DAVID BARRY MCLACHLAN After a brave battle with cancer, David Barry McLachlan, aged 55, passed away on June 27, 2016. With his passing he is reunited with his wife Delphene McCallum; his stepson Blaine Granger; his parents, Doris and Archie McLachlan and his beloved dog Quincy. David is survived by his stepdaughter Terra Granger (Chris); his stepsons, Brett and Brad Granger; his sisters, Yvonne Whetlor, Gay Leonard, Dawn Hanson, Gloria Gillingham, Terry Biggs, Peggy McLachlan, and Glenda Rieu, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and other loving relatives. David was a kind hearted man with a tough exterior. He was always very handy and eventually went on to own a home renovation business. He loved classic cars, especially his 1977 Chevy Nova, and was the president of the N.O.V.A. of Manitoba car club. As the president, David spent many hours organizing car shows and events to help raise money for CancerCare Manitoba. He will be truly missed by many. Heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff, physicians, and caregivers at Seven Oaks Hospital and Riverview Health Centre for their care and patience. A celebration of David's life to take place, rain or shine, on July 11, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. at the sheltered site 2a/2b at Kildonan Park. A short service is to begin at 6:00 p.m., with a BBQ to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Cancercare Manitoba, or in memory of David, spend some time with family or friends, take a walk with a dog, or go cruising listening to a favourite song. "The song may have ended, but the melody lingers on" -Irving Berlin

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • We we so saddened to hear of Dave's passing. We always enjoyed our visits with Dave and Del. Our thoughts go out to all the family. We will certainly think of Dave while we walk our puppy Roxy. - Posted by: Elat a and Mike Zadko (Friends) on: Jul 31, 2016

  • I got to know Dave through his friend, my cousin Asher Lavallee. They started to hang out with Asher's Dad & Mom while visiting Asher's Dad's sister Anita. It was kind of funny to see these young guys hanging out with the older generation. Talks on Thursday nights might have started with whatever game was on the tv but changed to cover almost any topic. We got to know Dave as a gentleman and an avid car fancier. This world is a little sadder that he has passed. Our thoughts & prayers are with his family & close friends. Rest in peace Dave. - Posted by: Karen Bauer (Friend ) on: Jul 09, 2016
