IRENE SUSAN DE MEYER August 22, 1924 - July 14, 2016 We sadly announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother (Mamie), Irene De Meyer, on July 14, at St. Boniface Hospital. Irene was born to Pharailde and Achiel DeScheerder on August 22, 1924, in St. Boniface. She was predeceased by her husband Albert, and beloved daughter Susan Lynn. Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Gail Turnbull (Les Beaubien), and granddaughter, Susan Turnbull. She will also be fondly remembered and missed by her lifelong best girlfriend Margaret Boone, and her very special friend and companion Bill Symbolic. Thank you to the St. Boniface General Hospital 6E and 6AS staff for their care during this difficult time. Special thanks for the support and kindness of the Rosewood (Cedar) and Action Marguerite (4AB) staff. A come and go celebration of Irene's life will be held on July 25, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. There will be a private interment. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
