PACIFICO (PACE) SANTILLI It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and Nonno, Pacifico (Pace) Santilli, on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Riverview Health Centre, surrounded by his loving family. Pacifico is survived by the love of his life Italia, of 56 years; sons, Angelo (Annette) and Franco (Cheryl); grandchildren, Jennifer (Joshua), Anna-Maria (Manny), Brandi (Peter) and Angelo (Samantha), Mykayla and Chantel; great-grandchildren, Christian, Alessandro, Elise, Zachary, Emily, Connor and Italia, all of whom he loved with all his heart. Pacifico is also survived by his brother Mario (Pina) and family in Australia and many aunts and uncles in Italy. Pacifico was predeceased by his parents and brother Ettorino. Pacifico or Pace, as his friends called him, was born in San Benedetto Dei Marsi, L'Aquila, Italy on February 10, 1935. He immigrated to Canada in December, 1964 by ship with his family. Pace began his career as a Master Barber 64 years ago in Italy. Known to many as Pace the Barber, Pace operated his business out of his home where if you were there at the right time, you may have been able to enjoy an espresso lovingly made by Italia. Pace was an avid hunter and trap skeet shooter, but his love for fishing kept him going to his grandson's home in Dauphin. Most of all, Pace loved spending time with his family both near and far. Many thanks to all of Pace's clients for their patronage throughout the years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., viewing and condolences will commence at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I have been away from the area for a while, but Pace was my Barber for many, many years. I always enjoyed our conversations about Ferrari, Tour de France, how all things Italian are the best, his wife and daughters cooking, his garden, his trips to Italy and Dauphin, those Customers that debated prices and of course our families. I will fondly remember the Christmas cookies and coffee, served by his lovely wife. A shave by Pace was the best! Once I did it, and I got over him talking to me with his hands and razor in hand, it was something I'd talk about for weeks. I still remember the first shave when he must have noticed my nervous eyes, he gently gave me a little slap, "relax, I've done this 10,000 times", he said with his chuckle. With my daughter going into stylist school, I moved my business to her. I was looking forward to sharing that with him, but I must of just missed. My condolences to the family, your dad, papa, Pace, was a great guy! - Posted by: Dale Sawchuk (Customer) on: Jul 14, 2017

  • I am so sorry for your loss. I bought my house in "Little Italy" in 1996 and loved walking by his shop and seeing him cutting hair and talking with his clients. His shop was a big part of the charm of the area. I never met him myself, however my spouse was one of his clients and spoke very highly of him. I felt very sad when I heard he had passed away. I will miss seeing him. May God keep his loved ones strong during this difficult time. - Posted by: Alaina (Neighbor) on: Jul 28, 2016

I will always remember the many many Saturday mornings we had solving the worlds problems, getting a hair cut and enjoying that wonderful coffee and biscuits.
