HENRY ALLAN (BUCKWHEAT) BIRD Sadly and quite suddenly, just after battling with sickness and adversity, on July 18, 2016, our beloved Henry Allan "Buckwheat" Bird was called home by numerous family and friends before him. With loved ones by his side, Henry was reunited with his father Henry Bird; sister Cynthia; brother Trevor; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. To cherish and share his awesome memories are his daughters, Pearl and Tanissa Bird; his beloved mother Marge LaForte; brothers, Lloyd and Curtis; sister Sarah; brother-in-law Mark; nieces, Kelsey, Carlina (Mookers), Shannon, Mia, Waawaatay, Sophia and Carrie twice... nephews, Devin, Shawn and Taikio, all his great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, numerous first, second and third cousins, family and friends. Henry, Allan, Buckwheat, Buck, Unc, Cuzz'n or friend, whatever names you knew him by we all cherished and loved his company! Buck will always be remembered as a strong, bud-loving, hard-working, life-generous soul who would give his gift of friendship to all who knew him. His life and laugh will echo within our memories. Wake services are being held at the Christ Anglican Church in Sagkeeng First Nation until the day of the funeral on Saturday, July 23, Winnipeg, MB at 2:00 p.m. Helping Henry on his journey home will be his pallbearers; Rodrigo Salinas, Charles Bird, Conrad Wesley, Randy Bruyere, Peter LaForte, and Kyle Smith. Many Miigweetch for all of the support from family, friends, loved ones, staff at Concordia Hospital, Rock, Leona and Dorian, and also his co-workers and First Nation Bands that support us all during this most difficult time. Thank you for Allan, he will be missed!
