KATHERINE (KATE) HUDSON (nee LAMB) Due to a sudden illness, it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kate Hudson on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the age of 65 years. Kate is lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Glenn, their son Dan and her grandson Nathan, sisters-in-law Cindy (Rolly) Ayotte, Audrey (Bob) Rouire, and Diane (Enoch) Johnson, nieces and nephews: Colin, Dana, Garrett, Lehala, and Cherice, and her faithful companion Toffey. Some of the things she enjoyed in life were her love of animals. She always enjoyed her visits to the farm as a child where she would befriend anything that had four legs. She spent many hours with her horses and enjoyed time at the lake with her family and friends. She trained with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet in her early 20s. She started Tae Kwon Do at the age of 31 after her son Dan started. She said that it reminded her of ballet. She earned her Fourth Degree Blackbelt and was the first National female referee in Canada for Tae Kwon Do. She opened her own school and trained many students in the Tae Kwon Do discipline. She was one of the founding members of the Miniature Enthusiasts of Winnipeg. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She spent countless hours doing her various crafts in her room in the house. She enjoyed her grandson Nathan immensely, scrapping and battling in many tickle fights. Nathan says Grandma won her last tickle fight in the hospital during our many visits. A celebration of Kate's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 11, 2016, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A special thank you to the staff of St. Boniface Hospital, Emergency, 5E Medicine, as well as the Paramedics, for all their loving care and support to both Kate and her family. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Glenn, Dan and families. So sorry for your loss and to hear of Kathy's (Kate) passing. I remember her from our Am Lee TKD days in the early 90's. She was one of my early instructors and she was a great one. Always focused on proper technique and showing Taekwondo Spirit. Enjoyed many a class with Ms. Hudson. Hope you all find comfort knowing she is in a better place. Sincerely, Brian LaBelle - Posted by: Brian LaBelle (Taekwondo Colleague/Student) on: Aug 10, 2016
