I am truly sad. To see that 2 people from one family, kids that I grew up with, have passed so young. Dawn, Darlene's sister, and I were best friends at a very young age. I was just told tonight that Darlene had passed away as well. Myself, Janice Walker, Carrie Walker, Heather and Darlene Dueck, (Winnipeg), all grew up together but we all lost touch, some earlier than others, but I always held Dawn and Darlene dear to my heart. I know that this is quite awhile ago, but it hurts my heart. RIP Darlene and give Dawn a huge hug from me please. Joanne Churchill - Posted by: Joanne Churchill (Friend) on: Aug 11, 2025

It is May 2020 and I have just found out about Darlene passing. I worked with Darlene for many years at Winnipeg Hydro. We were usually the first two in the office and always started the day off with a coffee and a couple of smokes. Darlene had an in credible sense of humor and a huge heart. She was a lot of peoples sunshine in that office . I left hydro in 1999 but ran into her one day out in her front yard a few tears later . I am so glad that I got to see her that last time. My sincere condolence to all of her family. The world has lost one loving and amazing person. - Posted by: Ken Dowse (Friend) on: May 19, 2020

I think about you every SINGLE day Mom. You we're the only one I could share my true thoughts with and never feel judged. It's so hard not to be able to call you and hear your voice and advice so I will just continue to talk and pray to you and hope you are listening....hopefully looking over my shoulder making sure I'm being good ! I would really appreciate it if you would start haunting me as you promised you would lol! I LOVE YOU MORE... - Posted by: Justin Allard (Son) on: Oct 31, 2017

The last time I talked with her was on 3rd January.. she said sorry that it seems she always sleeping, and wishing me a Happy New Year through KakaoTalk.. I know she was sick, but I dont know this bad.. I knew her since 2012, she is the most kind person that I have met. despite of her sickness, she always find a way to cheer me up, even after all I did was complaining bout my life, she still heard me.. I opened my Katalk this morning and see your account was deleted. I knew this bad feeling and I knew that you wouldnt do that. God gimme the answer, and this isnt the answer I always hoping for; am waiting u to reply my katalk, am waiting u to reply my mentions, but the fact I found that you already went far away from my reach, to take a peaceful rest, and am happy for you, because you dont feel any pain anymore. sorry I failed you, you let me call you mom, but I failed you.. thank you for everything you've done for me, from those fangirling moments to our late night talk.. I love you, Always.. -Reya your dearest daughter from Indonesia - Posted by: Reya (pen-friend) on: Mar 07, 2017

Steven and Robert, thinking of you both at this very sad time. Darlene was a cherished friend though I didn't know her long, and I shared many personal moments with her. She was a lovely woman, mother, wife and friend. I truly hope her soul is resting peacefully and she is somewhere where her Sister can make her smile again. Love and prayers to you both. Robert and Steven and family, I cannot find the words to describe the sadness felt for your loss of lovely Darlene. She is a beautiful soul. Though her voice is quiet. Her spirit echoes still...
