Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Chris and I met over a year and a half ago during an open tryout for the Airdrie Men's 035 squad. He and I hit it off and enjoyed playing the central defensive positions together. In my time in sport I have been fortunate enough to connect with someone else as a teammate only twice when it comes to having a sixth sense and ability to support one another during play without needing to yell or talk. We simply had each others back and along with the rest of the team, went on to enjoy a very rewarding first outdoor season together. Chris faught hard, smart, and always gave it his all. I am proud and honored to have known Chris. My memories of Chris will always be positive. We earned the nicknames of the twin towers in the back row. Well this twin tower will never forget his brother. Chris, you are missed and thank you for being a good soul. God Bless. You simply shall remain the Man of the Match in all our hearts. - Posted by: Dustin Olson (Airdrie FC Teammate) on: Aug 21, 2016

  • I always will remember the great fun Chris, Grant, and Joey and I had at the lake, whether it was hiking on the rocks, building forts, swimming and boating on the lake, or atv and finding sand pits or the muddiest patch of swamp to drive through. Of course there was the many hours of playing board games like Risk, Payday, Clue, Moviemaker, or Masterpiece whenever it was raining and we were stuck inside. There are so many great memories, but perhaps the two I like best was when Chris and I were in Winnipeg and a Tragically Hip song came on and between each line of the opening song Chris would ask a question and I would belt out the line in answer on the CD. The other would be when the four of us got together at my apartment, Joey cooked the spaghetti, Grant provided the drinks, and Chris the humor as we sat around and recalled all the great adventures and crazy things we did as kids at the lake. It was the last time the four of us were all together. My deepest sympathy to all of the family. - Posted by: Brian Choptain (Childhood friend) on: Aug 14, 2016
