FRANK TROIA February 21, 1940 August 22, 2016 It is with great sadness that on August 22, 2016, at the age of 76, our dear sweet father and grampy passed away to be with his beloved wife whom he missed so very much. He was an incredibly amazing man, dedicating his entire life to taking care of his family. Other than seeing his girls happy, it was the simple things in life that brought him joy, especially his daily stops for a cup of coffee and a game of Scopa at his favourite place, X-Cues Café. Through the years, he owned numerous hair salons and those that were lucky enough to have worked for him and our mom knew they had become a part of our family. He is survived by his daughters, Angie (Kenton), Rosetta and Novella (Shael); his grandchildren, Brittany, Maria, Sarina, Gabriella, Karina and finally, after many years surrounded by all "his" girls, a boy, Frankie. Frank is also survived by his sisters, Maria (Guiseppe) and Rosanna (Santo); brother Ben (Sybil); sister-in-law Cheryl; sister-in-law Anna; sister-in-law Concetta; and brother and sister-in-law Frank and Bettina as well as numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren in Canada and the United States. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Maria; his mother Angela; his father Paolo; his sister Frances; his brother-in-law Enzo; his brothers, Tony and Sam; his mother-in-law Rosa; his father-in-law Andrea; and his brothers-in-law, Frank and Erasmo. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 510 River Avenue with Reverend Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. Condolences will be received at 10:00 a.m. Private family Entombment at Holy Angel Mausoleum, Gardens #1 Green Acres Lane, MB. Pallbearers will be Sal Infantino, Maurizio Infantino, Andrew Tuzzolino, Frank Verghetti, Cory Troia, Saverio Bruni, Dennis Bonan and Frank Troia. Dad, we will love you forever. You were our hero and protector and we are grateful for all of your unconditional love and support. We will miss seeing your beautiful blue eyes and warm smile. Please give Mom a hug from all of us. We promise to do our best to take care of one another and make you proud. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Dear Angela and to your family, Please know that you are in my prayers at this time. Your Dad was such a kind man who always took the time to chat or say 'hello' whenever our paths crossed. Your were all blessed to be able to call him your Dad and I know he took special pride in being called Nonno. Hugs. Lia - Posted by: Lia Baksina (Friend) on: Sep 07, 2016

  • To Cousin Angie, Rosetta, Novella and families, words cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. Cousin Frank was such a genuine, kind person who will be missed dearly. I have special memories of him on my way to work every morning. I would always make sure to stop by his salon and wait for his wave to me. This moment and his smile would always brighten up my day. As I was growing up, I always looked up to how deeply in love he was with Cousin Maria. They were truly one of a kind and the memories I have of them will always hold such a special place in my heart. Although no words can help to ease your loss, may the beautiful memories of your parents bring you peace during this difficult time. With heartfelt sympathy, we are thinking of all of you and keeping you in our prayers. - Posted by: Maria, Armando, Maria and Frank Ferlaino (Cousins ) on: Aug 27, 2016

  • My condolences to the Troia family on the loss of your father and grandfather. Frank was a wonderful man and artisan. I had the good fortune to meet to him when my longtime hair stylist retired. Over a number of decades I followed him to his numerous shop locations and had the pleasure of getting to know Maria and to learn about their lives together. I enjoyed stories about their lives in Sicily, New York, Florida. About Frank's apprenticeship with the top stylist in New York in the 70's, and about his business ideas. He was an entrepreneur and had a great eye for business opportunities. A visit with Frank was a visit with a friend who always left me feeling and looking good! I especially learned about his love for his family and their spouses and eventually his precious grandchildren. Family pictures were proudly displayed beside his mirror. I haven't seen Frank since his retirement however wonderful memories of this always engaging, thoughtful, caring and talented man will stay with me forever. God Bless you Frank, Maria and your family. - Posted by: Greg Genik (Customer & Friend) on: Aug 27, 2016

  • Our family is saddened by the loss of Frank. He was a very quiet and lovely man. We saw how much he loved and enjoyed his family. He so loved his wonderful wife Maria. They were so happy when we saw them together. He liked to tease Maria and she would do the same. They were truly sweethearts and Frank missed his greatest love of his life when Maria passed. He is certainly smiling and glowing again with Maria close by his side once more. God be with you and all of your family and friends as we look to the heavens and know you are at peace.
