Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA LORRAINE BROOKS-DESILETS Suddenly and unexpectedly on August, 22, 2016, at Concordia Hospital, Barbara Brooks passed away at the age of 50 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Allyssa Desilets, ex-husband Michel Desilets, parents Barrie and Julia Brooks, sister Carol Lamirande (Tim), niece Brooklyne Schofield, nephew Edison Schofield, brother Kenneth Brooks (Cxene), and nephew Gregory Brooks. Barbara was predeceased by her brother Christopher in 1983. Barbara was employed in the food services field until 1998 when she graduated from the College of Health and Family Support Studies with a Health Care Aide Diploma. She has worked at several nursing homes for the past 18 years. Viewing will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at Glen Lawn, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Jeff Cook officiating. A reception will follow at Glen Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Barbara to the Building Fund of Transcona Memorial United Church or the charity of one's choice. Oh My God. We are both in shock. My husband was searching the obits this morning. What a loss. Barb was our neighbor for the longest time until she sold her house. We lived at 381. Oh my God. I would see her drive by our house almost every morning on her way to and from work and she would wave. I was wondering why I hadn't seen her lately. Our deepest condolences to her daughter and the entire family. She was taken so young. I will never forget our laughs we had over the years. to the brooks family__ i was sad and shocked to hear of the passing of your daughter and my friend barb. we had lost touch with each other for many years, but i can only remember our younger years as very close friends. she was taken too soon, my grief will linger for years to come whenever i think of her. my condolences to the family. barb will be gone but never forgotten. god bless. - Posted by: jennifer seievwright (friend) on: Aug 28, 2016

It was so sad and shocked to hear of Barb's passing, she was taken way to young. My heartfelt condolences to the family.
