VIOLET PRAWDZIK September 21, 1930 - September 2, 2016 The family of Violet Prawdzik express with deep sadness, the sudden passing of our mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend on Friday, September 2, 2016. Violet was born in Polonia, MB on September 21, 1930 to the late Xavier and Lily Kulbacki, where she lived until she moved to Winnipeg in 1957. She married her beloved husband, Ben, in 1949 and remained together until his passing in 2007. Violet was predeceased by her loving husband Ben and youngest son Wayne. She leaves behind to share in her memories, her son Randy (Debbie); daughters, Debbie (Rick) and Bernadine (Tom); and daughter-in-law Laura. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, with another one on the way and her beloved, faithful dog Lily and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Violet cared very much for her family, always looking forward to her Sunday dinners, and holiday feasts (she was a fantastic cook that we are all going to miss). Her favorite was the traditional meatless Christmas Eve dinner and the Christmas morning breakfast. Violet's greatest joy was having everyone all under one roof together. Violet was an avid sports fan always watching on TV and going to games. She loved her Goldeyes, going to their games in the summer and you could hear her cheering a block away when The Jets scored. Violet was an active member of the Elmwood East Kildonan Active Living Center. She loved playing darts, cards, lawn-bowling and getting together with all the people there. She ran the kitchen for years, often putting on holiday dinners for over 100 people. Violet also volunteered at the King's School Food Bank for over 20 years and had just recently decided that it was time to give it up. There wasn't a craft the she couldn't or didn't do and she was good at them all. She had a great sense of humor that's going to be sadly missed. We would like to thank all the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for all their quick and compassionate care. Memorial Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Prayers will be held Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Gerard's Parish, 45 Foster St. Funeral Services will be held also at St. Gerard's Parish on Friday, September 9 at 11:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
