CAROL-ANNE POTTER (nee CRANSTON) January 27, 1943 - September 5, 2016 On Monday, September 5, 2016, Carol-Anne Potter passed away peacefully, with her husband and children by her side, at the age of 73 years. Carol will be fondly remembered by her husband of 52 years, George Potter; her son Douglas (Gaylene) Potter; daughters Karen Potter and Barbara Potter; as well as grandchildren, Samuel, Alex, Emma, Brandon and Austin. She was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Edith Cranston, and her grandsons Tomas Reid and Luke George. Carol was a very loved and caring person and had many close friends over the years. She was very involved in several organizations, a member and president of the IODE in Manitoba, and Provincial Director of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Program. Carol found Matlock, Manitoba a home away from home as she spent all her summers there for over 50 years. Mom enjoyed travelling with her love of her life George on cruises, and travelling to the different parts of USA with her daughter Barbara. One of Mom's favourite things to was to go shopping with her daughter Barbara at Wal-Mart. In compliance with Carol's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. The family would like to extend their thank you to Victoria General Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care she received, and a special thank you to Barbara for caring for Carol over the past couple months. • How sad, but not unexpected, I was to hear of the passing of my friend Carol. We had been friends for 50+years starting with working weekends, Easter and Christmas breaks at Eaton's during our high school days. The friendship continued during marriage, births and life's ups and downs. One could not have asked for a better friend than Carol for her kindness, helpfulness, honesty, reliability and compassionate nature. My heart goes out to George, Barbara, Karen, Austin and Brandon, Doug & family. She will not be forgotten. Judy, Vancouver, BC - Posted by: Judy (Watson) Battley (Friend) on: Sep 16, 2016

  • To my other family: In life, one makes many acquaintances but very few "real friends". I was one of the blessed people to have Carol Anne as my closest, dearest, best and real friend for 70 years. Even though we lived apart, we never grew apart. We shared happy times, sad times, complaining times, celebratory times and just in general never tired of each other's company or friendship. I will miss you terribly my dear friend but will continue to have you in my life through your family who will hopefully fill in for you and whom I truly love. I know you will be watching us all from above. I love you and wish strength to all your family. Perky - Phoenix AZ - Posted by: Perky Sinclair Linder (Close friend ) on: Sep 10, 2016

  • Mom was a very special person. She had made so many good friends over the years, the crew from Eatons, Ian and Evelyn, Audrey and Lloyd and of course her life long friend Perky Sinclair. Mom will always been remembered in my heart. I will really miss the lunch and dinner time phone calls. You are now up in heaven with 2 wonderful people, her mom and dad. Love and Miss you mom. - Posted by: Karen Potter (Daughter) on: Sep 10, 2016
